BELOIT, Wis. — April 25, 2024 — ABC Supply Co., Inc., the largest wholesale distributor of roofing and other select exterior and interior building products in North America, is pleased to announce two associates as recipients of the company’s Ken Hendricks Award. As the most prestigious honor in the company, this award is given in honor of ABC Supply’s late co-founder and recognizes associates who demonstrate a commitment to the company’s character and its seven Core Values.

The 2024 Ken Hendricks Award recipients are Kurt Smith, managing partner of the Louisville, Kentucky, location, and Leon Clark, Mountain West District manager. Both recipients have consistently demonstrated their unwavering dedication to supporting their teams, communities and customers — and ABC Supply is thrilled to recognize their leadership with this award.

Leon Clark joined ABC Supply in 2002 as a branch manager through the company’s acquisition of Cameron Ashley. Throughout his 21-year tenure, Clark has demonstrated remarkable leadership, initially overseeing the Ogden, Utah, location. In 2005, he was named managing partner. Recognized for his achievements, Clark was inducted into ABC Supply’s President’s Club in 2007 and awarded Manager of the Year in 2009. Under his leadership, the Ogden, Utah, location achieved Gold Center of the Year in both 2012 and 2016. In 2016, Clark transitioned to the role of business manager for the West Region and in 2022 was promoted to Mountain West District manager. Clark exemplifies ABC Supply’s Core Values, from his inspiring entrepreneurial spirit to his genuine care and respect for each and every one of his peers. Committed to the growth of his team, he serves as a mentor to many, inspired by the opportunities he was given upon joining ABC Supply.

Kurt Smith joined the ABC Supply family in 1998 as branch manager at the company’s Louisville, Kentucky, location. Over his 25 years of leadership, the Louisville location has consistently excelled, receiving a Center of the Year award for an impressive 16 years. This includes four Gold-level awards, five Platinum-level awards and seven Diamond-level awards. In 2006, he was inducted into ABC Supply’s President’s Club. Two years later, Smith was made a managing partner at ABC Supply and honored as Manager of the Year. Throughout his tenure, Smith has excelled not only in business but also in fostering a supportive atmosphere for his team and making meaningful contributions to his local community through programs like Operation Care.
